Terms & Conditions
What you can expect from coaching with The AML Co., what it is not, and the practical arrangements.
Draft — assembled from Alice’s own Children’s Coach and Adult Coaching cancellation policies, and not yet reviewed by her. Two points below still need her decision.
What is being provided
Individual coaching — Coaching for Competing Priorities for adults, and Children’s Coach for children and young people aged 7–18.
Coaching is collaborative, confidential and non-clinical. It is not therapy, counselling, diagnosis, medical treatment, psychological treatment or formal assessment.
You remain responsible for your own decisions. Where something falls outside the scope of coaching, appropriate signposting or referral will be considered. Safeguarding takes priority where relevant.
Before anything is booked
Adults: a brief conversation first, about what is bringing you to coaching and whether it feels like the right support. If it does, sessions and payment are arranged.
Children: a conversation with a parent or carer first. You provide relevant background and give written consent before Alice works with your child. Your child’s views, comfort and participation stay central throughout.
Sessions
- Adults — a block of five 55-minute sessions. Not a fixed programme; the work follows what is most useful
- Children — six 45-minute sessions as a starting point, flexible in order and focus
- Sessions take place in person in Leigh-on-Sea or online, agreed at booking
- Between-session reflection may be suggested. There is no compulsory homework
Fees and payment
Adult coaching — 5 × 55-minute sessions, £375. Payment arrangements are confirmed when your coaching sessions are booked.
Children’s Coach — 6 × 45-minute sessions, £360. £360 upfront, or 2 × £180. Paying by instalments, the first £180 is payable before Session 1 and covers Sessions 1–3; the second £180 is due before Session 4 and covers Sessions 4–6.
Cancelling, rescheduling and missed sessions
Sessions are arranged in advance and reserved specifically for you or your child. Plans change, particularly with children and families, and the aim is always to be reasonable and flexible where circumstances allow.
If you need to cancel or rearrange, give as much notice as you can and, where possible, at least 48 hours.
- 48 hours or more — the session is rearranged at a mutually convenient time, subject to availability, within the agreed package
- Less than 48 hours, or missed without notice — the session may be counted as one of the sessions in the package
- Unexpected circumstances — decisions about missed sessions are considered reasonably, with the circumstances taken into account
A package should normally be completed within 12 weeks of the first session, unless otherwise agreed — six sessions for Children’s Coach, five for adult coaching. If circumstances make that difficult, say so as early as you can so an arrangement can be considered.
If Alice needs to cancel, she will give as much notice as possible and offer an alternative time wherever possible. If no alternative can be arranged, that session is not counted as part of the package and an appropriate payment adjustment is made.
Illness, emergencies and the unexpected
Illness, emergencies and unexpected family circumstances can make a session impossible. Let Alice know as soon as you reasonably can; she will consider the circumstances and aim to respond fairly.
Where it helps, an in-person session may be moved online by agreement — including where a child is mildly unwell or unable to travel. Online sessions follow the same safeguarding, confidentiality and boundary expectations as in-person ones.
Refunds
The two coaching offers are refunded differently, so they are set out separately.
Children’s Coach — six sessions
The first three sessions are non-refundable once the package has begun. Those sessions are what build the coaching relationship, let Alice understand your child and establish the foundations of the work.
If coaching ends after Session 3, unused sessions are ordinarily refunded pro-rata, unless another arrangement is agreed that suits the circumstances.
If, after the first three sessions, you feel coaching is no longer right for your child, talk to Alice. You can discuss whether to continue, change the focus, or bring the coaching to a positive close.
Adult coaching — five sessions
A session cancelled with less than 48 hours’ notice, or not attended, may be counted as one of the five, and the fee is not normally refunded. The time has been reserved specifically for you and may not be possible to offer to someone else at short notice.
At the end of the five-session block you may conclude coaching, continue with a further block of five, or return to coaching at a later point.
To confirm before publishing
What happens to unused sessions if an adult block ends early. The Adult Coaching Cancellation Policy sets the notice period, the 12-week window and the position on missed sessions, but says nothing about refunding the remainder of a block — where the children’s policy is explicit. Rather than assume the children’s pro-rata rule carries across, it is left open.
Both
No refund is automatically due for a session cancelled with less than 48 hours’ notice, or missed without notice, unless exceptional circumstances apply.
Unexpected circumstances are considered case by case. Get in touch as soon as you reasonably can.
Nothing here affects your statutory rights.
Confidentiality, and its limits
What is said in a session stays in the session. Parents receive the general picture of what is being worked on, not a repetition of everything their child says.
The exception is safeguarding. Where there is a reason to believe a child or adult is at risk of harm, Alice may need to share relevant information with the appropriate authorities. Children are told this at the start, in language they understand.
Scope, referral and ending
Coaching is not the right support for everything. Where a situation needs clinical or therapeutic care, a diagnosis, a formal assessment, or a school or safeguarding process, Alice will say so and, where she can, point you towards more suitable support.
There is no promise that a particular difficulty will be resolved within a block of sessions. At the end of a block the work is reviewed, and it may continue, change focus, pause, finish, or be referred on.
Alice does not investigate situations, decide who is at fault, or act as an intermediary between a family and a school.
Children’s Coach is voluntary. No child is pressured to take part. If a child says they do not want to continue, Alice will listen and explore what sits behind it rather than assume coaching should stop — and if, after that, they genuinely do not want to continue, their wishes are respected.
Changes to these terms
These terms apply to coaching booked from the date shown here. Any change applies to bookings made afterwards, not to a block already under way.
Add the date on publication.
